Lauretti Seeks 13th Term As Shelton Mayor Against Two Foes
SHELTON, Conn. — Mark Lauretti is seeking a 13th consecutive term as mayor of Shelton, according to a report in ctpost.com. Republican Lauretti is facing two opponents in Tuesday's election: Democrat Michele Bialek and Timothy Bristol, who is conducting a write-in campaign, ctpost reported. Lauretti says there are no urgent issues facing Shelton, but Bialek and Bristol say parks need attention and school funding should be increased, according to ctpost. OSSINING, N.Y. -- Two dozen scarecrows popped up around Ossining this month, part of the Ossining Girl Scouts' second annual Scarecrow-a-Palooza. Each scarecrow was crafted by an Ossining Girl Scout troop to brighten up October and celebrate the season. Photographer With Tripod Leads To Lockdown At Multiple Stamford Schools
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Students at a Stamford school mistook a photographer with a tripod for someone with a rifle in the woods, causing a lockdown Friday morning, according to a report in the StamfordAdvocate.com.
