Francine M. Tripodi, 61, Ossining Resident, GOP Activist
OSSINING, N.Y. -- Francine M. Tripodi, of Ossining, died Monday, Sept. 7. She was 61. She was born April 6, 1954, in Mount Vernon to Frank Leonardo and Domenica Cardamone.
She was co-owner of Executive Courier of Greenwich, Conn., Inc. She was also the former secretary and district leader for the Ossining Town Republican Party, and the former campaign manager and treasurer for many campaigns and committees, most notably the successful campaign of her son, Peter J. Tripodi IV.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police issued 47,359 tickets during the national Drunk Driving, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from Aug. 21 through Sept. 7.
During the crackdown state police targeted impaired and distracted driving, speeding, move-over violations and those not buckled up.
Of the tickets issued, 18,660 were for speeding, 2,522 for child-restraint and seat belt violations, 556 move-over tickets and 1,613 for distracted driving.

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Charles J. Martin, of Somers, formerly of Mahopac, died Wednesday. Sept. 9, at the age of 71. He was born in New York City on May 16, 1944, the son of Charles and Anne Meehan Martin.
He earned a Master's in Business Administration and was a certified public accountant. He retired in 2009 as chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Matco-Norca in Brewster. He was the treasurer of the Heritage Hills Condo Association and served on the audit committee of the Heritage Hills Society.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Robert J. Brown, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 8. Brown, also known as Dink, was born to George and Margaret Brown and lived his entire life in Bridgeport.
He was a lifetime parishioner and former adult altar server of St. Patrick's Church.
He received an associate degree from the University of Bridgeport and was a longtime employee of Sikorsky Aircraft. But his real vocation was advocacy for people with disabilities. Roland J. Tiso Sr., 93, Rye Brook Resident
RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- Roland J. Tiso Sr., 93, a resident of Rye Brook, died Tuesday, Sept. 8. He was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Mount Vernon to the late Vincenzo and Anna Ianaro Tiso. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School.
Tiso served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married to the late Nancy Varo, who died Nov. 19, 2012.
He was a boilermaker for New Haven Railroad at the Cos Cob power plant. He retired in 1986.
He was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester.
