Putnam Valley Man Faces Unlicensed Driving Charge
PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Putnam Valley man is facing a motor vehicle charge after being stopped in Philipstown by a Putnam County sheriff's deputy, Sheriff Donald Smith said. Deputy Sheriff Brian Aisenstat stopped a speeding motorist on Route 9D in Philipstown about 4 p.m. Aug. 30. The deputy determined that the driver, Victor L. Nikaj, 53, of 367 Lake Shore Drive, Putnam Valley, held a suspended license, authorities said. NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle resident Ji Seon Lee, associate professor of social work, has been named the associate dean of Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service in West Harrison. In her new capacity, Lee will oversee the GSS programming at the Westchester campus in West Harrison. She replaces Janna Heyman, who held the position since 2010 and who has been named the Henry C. Delayed Elmwood Park Road Repaving Expected To Restart
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- A pair of road paving projects delayed by what borough officials said was a bidding technicality are expected to restart soon, NorthJersey.com reports. The borough had to go out to bid again after the first round came in too high, Mayor Richard Mola told the web site. Anker served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. In 1949, he married Rhoda Samuels in New York City. MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mervyn H. "Bud" Connor Jr. died Tuesday, Sept 8. Connor was born May 19, 1926 to Stella and Mervyn Connor, and was a lifelong resident of Mamaroneck. He graduated from Bellows High School in 1944 and served in the merchant marine at the end of World War II. He was in the first graduating class of the New York State Institute of Art and Science and majored in building.
