MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Joseph M. Stancari of Mount Kisco and Boynton Beach, Fla. died on Saturday, April 23. He was 76.He was born on April 27, 1939. and was raised in the Silver Lake Section of White Plains. He graduated from the White Plains Public Schools. In the early 1970's, Stancari joined the Westchester County Department of Corrections, where he quickly advanced through every supervisory position. He was appointed commissioner of the Department of Corrections by County Executive Andrew P. O'Rourke in 1995, where he oversaw a staff of 1,200 correction officers and managed an $80 million …

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Elizabeth "Betty" Mercer died Saturday, April 23, at the Greenwich Woods Nursing home in Greenwich, Conn.She was 81.She was born in White Plains on July 14, 1934, the daughter of William C. And Emma S. Von Rein.
She was educated in the White Plains School system, later attending Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ.
Upon returning to White Plains, she accepted a position with General Motors Acceptance Corp. as secretary to the branch manager.

BUCHANAN, N.Y. -- Helen Burress of Buchanan died on Saturday, April 23, She was 86. She was born in Newark in 1929 to Mary and Joseph Uninsky.
She was a longtime resident of Buchanan and parishioner of St. Christopher's Church.
Burress is survived by her sister, Josephine Papula; and her children, John, Thomas, Oscar, Patricia and Stephen.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar Burress.

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Lily Cate Love, of Eastchester died Saturday, April 23, in Valhalla. She was 7 years old.Lily was born on Aug. 15, 2008, in Greenwich Hospital, to daughter of Albert "Chip" and Donna Love and loving sister Olivia Grace.
Lily was in the second grade at Greenvale Elementary School in Eastchester and loved drawing and art, soccer, swimming, golf and tennis. Leonard F. Schindo, 92, Of Rye
RYE, N.Y. -- Leonard F. Schindo, a lifelong resident of Rye, died in New Port Richey. Fla., on April 22, while visiting his daughter. He was 92. Schindo was born on June 1, 1923, to Frank and Clara Schindo. He graduated from the Rye school system and excelled in sports. He was an avid golfer and managed to score fourteen holes-in-one during his lifetime. He especially enjoyed his days of golf at the Rye Golf Club, long morning walks on the Playland boardwalk and Tuesday night pizza with his brother, Ed, and friends. He served in the Pacific with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Lifting Up Westchester, the 37-year-old social services organization which serves all of Westchester County, celebrated at its annual Oasis of Hope spring gala at Leewood Golf Club in Eastchester on April 14. More than 200 patrons and supporters were in attendance and $40,000 was raised.

SLOATSBURG, N.Y. -- Gioacchino (Gino) Randazzo also known as Jack, of Sloatsburg, died on April 22, at the age of 87. Born April 13, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, to Vincenzo and Vita (DiCapo) Randazzo. Randazzo was an Army veteran of the Korean War, 7th Infantry Division. He was employed by Ford Motor Company where he retired after 24 years.
