POUGHQUAG, N.Y. -- Gerard P. Oswald died Wednesday, April 20, at his home in Poughquag. He was 90. A resident of Poughquag for 20 years, he was born in the Bronx on May 10, 1925, to John Henry Oswald and Elizabeth (Ulrich) Oswald. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the owner of H.C. Oswald Supply, a heating supply company in New York City.

Marie S. Cooney, 66, Lifelong White Plains Resident
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Marie S. Cooney, a lifelong White Plains resident, died April 20, 2016. She was 66. She was born July 17, 1949, in White Plains, to the late James and Rose Cooney.
She is survived by her brothers, James (Nan) Cooney and Thomas (Joanne) Cooney, both of Bluffton, S.C.; and her nieces and nephews, Susan D'Onofrio, Jennifer Molloy, Michael Cooney, Scott Cooney, Brian Cooney and Carrie Riddle.
She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia O'Connor; and a nephew Daniel O'Connor. Memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. A service will take place at noon.

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Isabelle D. Bartling a longtime resident of Mamaroneck, died April 20, 2016. She was 87. Bartling was born Aug. 30, 1928, to Jack and Martha Barberis.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 26 years, Karl H. Bartling Sr.
She is survived by her children, Karl H. Bartling Jr. (Shari), Karen Capparelli and Susan Scialo (Charley); grandchildren, Timothy, Brittney, James, Karl III, Brandon, Jennifer and Christopher; and dear sister Anita Aloisi.

William G. McCarthy, 84, Of Valhalla
MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- William G. McCarthy, 84, a longtime resident of Valhalla, died April 20, 2016. Born in Newark, N.J. to Eugene and Margaret McCarthy, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Afterwards, he attending American University, graduating in 1957.
McCarthy was a former director of development at Columbia University and coached Kensico Little League for more than 20 years. His great passions were baseball, dancing and movies.
