Food Bank for Westchester Receives $65,000 Donation from Swiss Re GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- The Food Bank for Westchester is the recipient of a $65,000 donation from Swiss Re in support of its Emergency Food Distribution Program. The donation was a result of Swiss Re employees choosing the Food Bank as its 2016 Charity of the Year, a partnership that they kicked-off at a breakfast last month.  The Food Bank is a part of the county's emergency food network. Ossining Matters Hosts Big Soiree OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Big Soirée hosted by Ossining Matters took place on Friday, April 1 and was an evening of the unexpected. “Pop-up” student performances happened during the cocktail hour. Silent Auction items were set up in the main ballroom as well as the upstairs of the Mansion at the Briarcliff Manor.  As the party continued, everyone settled down to a buffet dinner. Sleepy Hollow Students Visit Animal Sanctuary SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow High School students visited the Catskill’s Animal Sanctuary to lean about how to care for animals.The Catskill’s Animal Sanctuary has been supporting animal welfare since its opening in January 2001. Members of Sleepy Hollow High School’s PAW (Promoting Animal Welfare) along with their advisors, Samantha Horn and Bonnie Berry, visited Catskill Animal Sanctuary for a day of service and learning. While at the sanctuary, the students did farm chores and met the many residents of the sanctuary.
