Rockland St. Patrick's Day Parade Draws Huge Crowd In Pearl River
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- The 2016 Pearl River St. Patrick's Day Parade took place on Sunday March 20.The annual parade in Rockland County is the second largest St. Patrick's Day event in New York State and had Irish eyes smiling. Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato and Legislator Lon Hofstein joined the Ancient Order of Hibernarians for the festivities.

Nyack Hospital Offers Free Breast, Cervical Cancer Screenings
NYACK -- The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital will offer free breast exams, mammography and, if needed, pelvic exams with PAP tests for women ages 40 and older with no insurance or who are underinsured on Friday, April 22, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.. The screening is funded by The Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen and the state Department of Health, Bureau of Chronic Disease Control, Capital One Bank, Mercedes Benz of Nanuet and Nyack Hospital. Rockland Executive Day Visits New City School For Museum Lesson
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Rockland County Executive Ed Day on Friday visited New City Elementary School to participate in a program dubbed "A Day at the Museum." Fourth-grade students played the roles of notable figures in American history, from George Washington and Gen. George Patton to Pocahontas and Michelle Obama. Principal Debra Forman and her staff led the educational and entertaining schoolwide lesson.

Pelham Science Students Excel At Research Competition
PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. -- Pelham Memorial High School science research students won at the Regeneron Westchester Science and Engineering Fair, advancing to Intel’s International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix. The local students represented two of 15 projects selected as winners to move on as finalists. The students won over $7,000 in cash and prizes, according to the Pelham school district's Facebook page.

Zebrowski Disclosure Bill Passes As Part Of Assembly Sunshine Week
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- A bill by Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski, D-New City, that would require disclosure on all political communication has unanimously passed the Assembly. The bill, A.4286B, looks to end anonymous negative mailings by requiring a “paid for by” statement on all print, Internet, television or radio advertisements. Woodlands High School Celebrates International Night
GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Woodlands High School saw numerous performances at Friday evening's International Night in Greenburgh, an event that celebrated the cultural diversity of the school district and community. Performers included an African dance ensemble, a Latin jazz band, Mexican dancers, Ecuadorean dancers and other musical performances and presentations about other countries, It was all capped off with traditional foods served in the cafeteria.
