Bedford Road School Celebrates Dr. Seuss' Birthday
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Bedford Road School celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday on March 2, with a Vocabulary Parade and guest readers from Pace University including around 50 student-athletes. Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904.Bedford Road School is at 289 Bedford Road in Pleasantville not far from the Pace University campus.

BEACON, N.Y. -- The Town of Beacon will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with three events: Beacon's Parade of Green; Kegs and Eggs at Bank Square Coffeehouse; and Pints and Pancakes at Stinson's Pub.All events occur on Saturday, March 12. Ossining Food Pantry Seeks Donations
OSSINING, N.Y. -- Difficult economic conditions contributed to a 16 percent increase in clients served by the Ossining Food Pantry in 2015. The organization serves a large cross-section of residents from the greater Ossining area including single individuals, couples, parents with children, senior citizens struggling to get by on Social Security, the unemployed, the under-employed, veterans, the sick who cannot work and the well who cannot make ends meet under current circumstances. Sleepy Hollow High School Pledges To End 'R' Word
SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- There was joy in the Sleepy Hollow house today, when the High School celebrated diversity with its annual Spread the Word to End the Word initiative, featuring the SHADE club, Sleepy Hollow Academy for Disability Education, collecting signatures during the day from classmates who pledged not to use the "R" word to describe a disabled person. Washington Irving Students Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Washington Irving students, teachers and administrators spent a half-hour on Wednesday, March 2, deep in thought and reading school-wide, in honor of the birthday of the late Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss.Best known as the author of such children's classics as "The Cat in the Hat," "Horton Hatches the Egg." and "Horton Hears a Who!", Dr. Seuss was born in 1904. It was also the National Education Association's Read Across America Day.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- There will be a Full Worm Moon on Wednesday, March 23, and the New Rochelle High School Planetarium invites residents to spend an evening under the stars to find out why it's called a Full Worm Moon. The event will welcome spring, say goodbye to Orion and the winter constellations, say hello to Leo the Lion and the stars of spring and more.
