Bronxville Student Named New York Nat Geo State Bee Semifinalist BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Henry, an eighth-grade student at The Chapel School in Bronxville and the son of Stephen and Kathleen, has been notified by the National Geographic Society that he is one of the semifinalists eligible to compete in the 2016 New York State Bee. The contest will be held at the New York State Museum in Albany on Friday, April 1. Lakeland Education Foundation Honors Four At Dinner Dance YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Lakeland Education Foundation (LEF) honored four members of the Lakeland Central School District community at its annual dinner dance on Saturday.This year’s honorees were Thomas and Vanessa DiLorenzo of Funflatables, Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School Principal Robert Bergmann, and Board of Education Trustee and former LEF Treasurer Michael Daly. The dinner raised $38,000. Created in 1994, the Foundation has now awarded more than $750,000 in grants to help enhance the educational experience of students in the district.
