Main Street Students Construct Buildings Inspired By Mexican Architecture
IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Main Street School students, who are studying Latin American culture, economics and history as part of the fifth-grade curriculum, used recycled materials they brought from home to construct various buildings inspired by Mexican architecture. Aided by their newly acquired knowledge and a variety of materials, including spaghetti boxes, pencil boxes, aluminum foil, corks, cardboard tubes, bottle caps, toothpicks, beans and rice, the students put their imagination and creativity to work. Four Valhalla High Seniors Sign Letters Of Intent
MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Valhalla High School seniors Kaio DaSilva, Frankie Guzzo, Maddie Brand and Amanda Guy are headed to college with sports scholarships in the fall. DaSilva will play soccer at Old Dominion University in Virginia. Guzzo will play soccer at Marist College along with Guy, who will be on the crew team. Brand will continue her track career at Southern New Hampshire University. The signing ceremony took place Feb. 3 in the Valhalla Middle/High School auditorium. As the senior student-athletes signed the paperwork, their parents cheered.

CBRE Arranges $51.3 Million Loan For Stamford's Park Square West
STAMFORD, Conn. -- CBRE Capital Markets’ Debt and Structured Finance team has arranged a $51.3 million construction loan for the development of Park Square West Phase IV Apartments, a 209-unit, luxury high-rise apartment building in Stamford. CBRE arranged the LIBOR-based, floating-rate construction loan on behalf of a joint venture between entities controlled by Trinity Financial and Berkshire Group. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- After a national search, Dr. Michael Gargano of Hartford has been selected to serve as president of St. Vincent's College in Bridgeport. Lego Fans Invited To Valentine's Day Challenge At New Canaan Library
NEW CANAAN, Conn. — Builders ages 5 and up are invited to visit the New Canaan Library in the Children's Program Room for the monthly challenge, using Lego bricks. In honor of Valentine's Day children will be encouraged to add red decorations to what they build. A photo of each design will be posted to the library Facebook page.
