Scarsdale School Board Forums Examine Building Needs SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The Scarsdale Board of Education will hold two public forums featuring presentations by the district architects, KG and D: one on the building conditions survey they prepared recently; and the other on the Greenacres Building Committee report, as part of preliminary discussions for a proposed bond referendum in May 2017. These public forums are scheduled for Thursday, March 3, at 7 p.m. at Greenacres Elementary School and Tuesday, March 15, at 9 a.m. at Scarsdale High School in the auditorium.

Croton-Harmon Students Enjoy Global School Play Day CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. --  Students at Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School in Croton-on-Hudson enjoyed at least one hour of uninstructed play time, in addition to recess, on Feb. 3 as part of Global School Play Day, joining more than 177,000 other students from around the world. The day was an entirely unplugged one. Students steered clear of all electronics and screens in favor of toys like board games, Legos and jigsaw puzzles.
