Danbury Rep. Carter Looks To Rein In Spending, Taxes As Legislature Opens
DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury State Rep. Dan Carter (R-2) joined fellow legislative leaders for the start of the 2016 legislative session Wednesday at the State Capitol, which marked the beginning of his sixth legislative session. Carter represents the 2nd District of Bethel, Danbury, Newtown and Redding.
This three month “short” session, however, is unique as it occurs biannually and only allows legislator- proposed bills related to budgetary, revenue and financial matters to be considered. Committees, on the other hand, can submit bills to be considered on any subject.

Stratford Prepares To Officially Welcome LA Fitness
STRATFORD, Conn. — The Stratford Chamber of Commerce and Mayor John Harkins will be welcoming LA Fitness, with a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at noon, at 411 Barnum Ave. The health club officially opened for workouts in December. A grand opening celebration will also be held Saturday, Feb. 20.

JRT Realty Group Leases Office Space In Wilton
WILTON, Conn. -- JRT Realty Group has arranged four leases totaling 23,595 square feet at Wilton Woods Corporate Campus in Wilton, a two-building, Class-A office park owned by TIAA-CREF.
The first tenant, Property Group Partners, has taken a five-year, 6,874-square-foot lease on the third floor of 20 Westport Road, one of the office park’s two buildings. The firm develops, acquires and manages luxury landmarks and first-class office buildings in North America and Europe.
