Norwalk's Lavielle: This Is No Time To Increase DMV's Responsibilities
NORWALK, Conn. -- Two proposals announced this week perfectly show the problems at the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, said state Rep. Gail Lavielle, R-143rd District of Wilton, Norwalk and Westport.
One, introduced by Gov. Dannel Malloy, would allow some DMV customer services to be outsourced to third parties, including AAA. The other, introduced by Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, would automatically register anyone doing business with the DMV as a voter.
