NORWALK, Conn. -- The launch event for Entrée Nous, a restaurant guide for Fairfield County created by Elizabeth Menke and Aline Weiller, will be hosted on Thursday, Feb. 11 by Artisan Restaurant in Fairfield.Entree Nous, dedicated to the food community at large, will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Norwalk-based hunger relief organization, Community Plates. Fish Fry Coming To First United Methodist Church of Shelton
SHELTON, Conn. — First United Methodist Church of Shelton is hosting its 14th Annual Lenten Fish Fry dinners on Friday nights Feb. 12 through March 18. The dinners will run 5:30 to 7 p.m. The church will serve up home cooking, including baked or fried fish, choice of potato, pasta, homemade coleslaw, dessert and a beverage. HARRISON, N.Y. -- I would like to take this time to recognize a group of students at Harrison High School. The students in Ms. Frawley’s class applied to the Verizon Innovative App Challenge, a nationwide contest for middle school and high school students, which challenged them to develop concepts for mobile apps that solve problems in their region. Changes Afoot In Downtown Hartsdale
HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- Downtown Hartsdale is going to see some changes coming in the near future.The former Harry’s on E. Hartsdale Avenue is being renovated and will be an Irish Pub called “The Irish Bank.” Westchester Choice Realty plans to open up new offices on E Hartsdale Ave at the old Pampered Paws site. Shelton School Board Agrees On $71.1M Budget Plan
SHELTON, Conn. — Citing steady enrollment and increasing special needs, the Shelton school board adopted a 2016-17 budget plan this week that would bump spending 2.37 percent to $71.1 million, according to the Connecticut Post. New superintendent Christopher Clouet said the budget includes a $1.6 million increase for 8.5 new staff positions, mostly in special education and English as a second language programs, the Post said.
