Fish Fry Coming To First United Methodist Church of Shelton SHELTON, Conn. — First United Methodist Church of Shelton is hosting its 14th Annual Lenten Fish Fry dinners on Friday nights Feb. 12 through March 18. The dinners will  run 5:30 to 7 p.m. The church will serve up home cooking, including baked or fried fish, choice of potato, pasta, homemade coleslaw, dessert and a beverage.  Proceeds support the church’s ministries and missions. Shelton School Board Agrees On $71.1M Budget Plan SHELTON, Conn. — Citing steady enrollment and increasing special needs, the Shelton school board adopted a 2016-17 budget plan this week that would bump spending 2.37 percent to $71.1 million, according to the Connecticut Post. New superintendent Christopher Clouet said the budget includes a $1.6 million increase for 8.5 new staff positions, mostly in special education and English as a second language programs, the Post said.
