Columbus Elementary Students Visit Lincoln Center MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- Columbus fourth graders had great seats at Lincoln Center to hear the New York Philharmonic perform a tribute to Finnish composer Jean Sibelius and the music of his homeland. The trip was part of Lincoln Center’s Young People’s Concert “Jean Sibelius: Music of a Hero, Music of a Nation” held on Jan. 20 at David Geffen Hall in New York City. Music teacher Barbara Schulz said this is the third year that the fourth graders have attended the Philharmonic. 3-D Printing Initiative Pairs High School And Kindergarten TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Kindergarten students in Tarrytown learned how to make their own designs using 3-D printing. Kindergarten students in Robin Suarez and Arielle Schneeweiss’s classes at the John Paulding School collaborated with Sleepy Hollow High School students from Mary Rosenberg and Jason Choi’s technology classes got creative with 3-D printers. Norwalk Superintendent Lays Out Plan To Improve Special Education NORWAlK, Conn. — At a recent Board of Education meeting, Norwalk Superintendent Steven Adamowski presented steps that Norwalk Public Schools plans to accomplish this year to improve education of students with special learning needs. Harrison JCC Visits Plattekill Mountain Resort HARRISON, N.Y. -- The Harrison Schools are closed on Tuesday, March 8 for Superintendent's Day, so the Jewish Community Center of Harrison has rented out the Plattekill Mountain Resort.The trip will be fully staffed with access to all facilities on the mountain, including snow tubing, ski instruction, the cafeteria and the outdoor fire pit.
