Blaze At Abandoned Spring Valley House Sparks Brush Fire
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- A massive brush fire started late Saturday night in Spring Valley when flames began at an abandoned house adjacent to 7 Dundee Court, according to News 12. Fire officials said brush and woods blocked the path to the flames, impeding firefighting efforts, though no homes were evacuated; one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion, according to News 12. Investigator Claims He's Close To Cracking Lauren Spierer Case
EDGEMONT, N.Y. -- A private detective who is working on the missing person case involving Edgemont resident Lauren Spierer claims he is close to finally solving the years old mystery, according to multiple reports. Lane Closures Expected In Orangetown On Route 340 East
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Motorists are advised that the eastbound lane of Route 340 between Route 303 and Kings Highway in Orangetown is expected to be closed on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 29, so crews may perform utility work, the state Department of Transportation announced. Substation Fire In Hillburn Still Burning But Under Control
HILLBURN, N.Y. -- The substation fire in Hillburn is still burning, but is under control, authorities said. Power remains unaffected. Torne Valley Road remains open to the public until just beyond the bridge to the hamlet of Ramapo. Ramapo Police Department Chief of Police Brad Weidel. Multiple agencies, including the police, began battling to contain a fire at a Con Edison substation in Hillburn that started Friday night. Greenburgh Town Board Repainting Three Water Tanks
GREENBURGH, N.Y. --The Greenburgh Town Board authorized the re-painting of three water tanks. Student interns working with Town Clerk Judith Beville, Town Attorney Tim Lewis and the town office recently took a tour of a water tank being repainted in the Edgemont section of Greenburgh. The painting of the water tanks will cost $2 million.
