Red Hook Education Foundation Hosting Annual Fundraiser
RED HOOK, N.Y. -- The Red Hook Education Foundation will host its sixth annual benefit gala, Dreaming Under the Stars, for an evening of music and community on Friday, June 17 at the Fisher Center. The evening will feature food, drinks, auction items, and magicians. Founded in 2010, the mission of the Red Hook Education Foundation is to enhance education for students in the community by funding programs that promote equity and inspire excellence. POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Hellenic Community Center in Poughkeepsie is hosting a Greek Festival from June 16 to 19.The festival will be done in conjunction with the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Chuch and hours on Thursday through Saturday are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with Sunday being 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The festival will take place at 54 Park Ave. in Poughkeepsie.

Ramapo Police Benevolent Association Golf Outing Aids Resident In Need
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The Ramapo Police Benevolent Association held its annual golf outing at the New York Country Club on Monday. Every year, 100 percent of the proceeds benefit one town resident who has been stricken by illness and financial strife as a result. This year, 144 golfers played, and the reception was attended by 300 people.

Claremont School Participates In Minds In Motion At Jacob Burns
OSSINING, N.Y. -- Eileen Kanganis and Emily Crampton's 4th grade class from Claremont School in Ossining were among those who participated in Mind's in Motion, a program run by the Jacob Burns Film CenterThe kids learned all about making movies and got to see their finished product on Friday, June 10 at the movie theater along with four other classes. They got to dress up and walk the red carpet for their movie premier. Many of the parents came to see the movies and the kids all got an award for participating in the program.

Pawling Teen Lifts With A Purpose
PAWLING, N.Y. -- Pawling bodybuilder Zoe Huff graduated from the Oakwood Friends School on June 10, in Poughkeepsie. This fall, she will be going to Syracuse University, majoring in exercise science and psychology. . “I read in eighth grade that Beyoncé was doing 1000 crunches per day,” remembers Huff. “So I started an exercise regime with a friend, doing the crunches together via Skype. Cottage Lane 5th Grade Chorus Performs At Young Voices Concert
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- The Fifth Grade Chorus from Cottage Lane Elementary School joined about 6,000 students recently as part of the American Young Voices Concert in the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The May 26 concert featured more than two hundred choirs from the tri-state area who united to sing a medley of songs together. Each school choir rehearsed the concert repertoire independently with their music teachers.
