$25.8 Million Ticket Tops NJ Lotto Winners In 2023 Several very lucky winners struck it very rich playing the lottery in New Jersey in 2023. Here's a recap of some of the top prizes: A Pick-6 ticket sold in August in Point Pleasant netted one person $25.8 million. The ticket was sold at Quick Chek at 2307 Route 88 and the winning numbers were 10, 12, 21, 30, 38, and 45. Employee Assaulted, Locked In Closet During Armed Robbery Of Route 70 Mattress Store: PD A mattress store employee was assaulted and locked in a closet during an armed robbery in Evesham on Wednesday, Dec. 27, authorities said. At 6:30 p.m., an unknown man, wearing all black with a face covering and carrying a black weapon, believed to be a knife, entered the Mattress Warehouse and demanded money, Evesham police said. The suspect assaulted the employee and then locked him in a closet before fleeing the store, police said. The employee was able to free themselves and called police, officers said. 'She's My Ride' Owner Michele Posthumus, Wayne Valley HS Grad, Dies Michele Posthumus, a Wayne native who lived in Asbury Park, died on Tuesday, Dec. 26 at the age of 57, according to her obituary. Born on Feb. 17, 1966, she graduated from Wayne Valley High School and ran two businesses, "Absentee Property Management" and "She's My Ride, her obituary reads. 18-Year-Old Shot In Head By Boy In Jersey City: Prosecutor A 17-year-old Jersey City boy was charged on Wednesday, Dec. 27 with fatally shooting an 18-year-old last week, authorities said. Angel Guzman, a Jersey City resident, arrived at Jersey City Medical Center in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper body around 2:20 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Seal Bitten By Shark Rescued In NJ Beach Town: Officials A one-year-old seal is recovering after he was bitten by a shark on Christmas Day in Surf City on Long Beach Island. When Marine Mammal Stranding Center, based in Brigantine, arrived on the scene, they said they found the yearling suffering from a large laceration on his left hip and wounds on his abdomen and around his tail. The seal was transported to the center for medical treatment and staff administered fluids and flushed out his wounds, MMSC said. He is currently on oral and topical medications to prevent infection and is resting in intensive care, MMSC said.

24-Year-Old Dead In NJ Turnpike Crash: State Police A 24-year-old Millville man was killed in a three-car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County on Wednesday, Dec. 27, state police said. At 10:36 p.m., police responded to a car crash on the Turnpike in Mansfield Township. A Honda was traveling southbound in an outer lane when it lost directional control and collided with a Tesla traveling southbound in an inner lane, state police said. Verona Police Encounter Car Burglars After Vehicle Stopped In Roadway: (Video) Two Verona police officers tried to stop car thieves who were attempting a break-in on the early morning of Wednesday, Dec. 27. At 1:04 a.m., the officers were on patrol when they observed a white Honda Accord parked in the middle of the roadway on Martin Road, police said. Support Rises For Victims Of Three-Alarm Morris County Fire Seven people were rescued when a three-alarm fire that engulfed a home on Boonton on Saturday, Dec. 16, firefighters said. At 11:15 p.m., firefighters said they were dispatched to structure fire on the 100 block of Mechanic Street and found four adults, two children and a 7-month-old trapped on the second floor. Ladders were thrown up to the second floor and the occupants were safely removed from the structure and the fire was eventually placed under control, firefighters said. Officials ID Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train In North Jersey NJ Transit officials have identified the pedestrian fatally struck by a train this week. Naji Jacob, a 74-year-old New Providence resident, was struck and killed by a train near Murray Hill Station in New Providence early Wednesday morning, Dec. 27. At 5:05 a.m., a Gladstone Branch train en route to Hoboken, fatally struck Jacob, NJ Transit officials said. There were no injuries to the people on board the train, NJ Transit said.
