Driver Dies In Head-On Rt. 31 Crash In Hunterdon County: State Police (Update) A 56-year-old man was killed after his car collided with a truck on Route 31 in Hunterdon County on Monday, Nov. 27, state police said. Christopher Jones, of Hampton, was heading north in a Subaru when he entered the left lane going against the flow of traffic, and collided with a southbound Mack truck, head-on around 7:45 a.m. in Hampton near milepost 39, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. Jones died in the crash while the driver and passenger of the Mack tractor suffered minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation.

On Jan. 19, Ricotson Dolisca, a 35-year-old Irvington resident and Gary Rhymes, a 37-year-old East Orange resident were caught on video taking a customer's wallet, phone and clothes at gunpoint inside the eatery, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Three Rescued From Vehicle Trapped In Floods: Belleville PD Three people were rescued after their vehicle got stuck on a flooded roadway in Belleville early Wednesday morning, Nov. 22.  At 5:10 a.m., Belleville police were notified of a vehicle stuck on a flooded roadway near 525 Main St, officers said.  Police found a 2014 Dodge Durango with three occupants inside and along with the fire department, were able to safely remove the occupants, officers said. The vehicle was subsequently towed, police said.  The roadway was eventually reopened, police said.

Detectives Trying To ID Newborn Abandoned On NJ Trash 37 Years Ago The day after Thanksgiving in 1986, sanitation workers in South Orange made a grisly discovery. A dead baby was found atop a trash can behind an apartment building at 5 Cottage Street in South Orange on Nov. 28, 1986, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.  The body was wrapped in a towel and a yellow table runner and placed in a wicker picnic basket, which was left on the trash can, prosecutors said.
