An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Orange Man Busted With Handgun At Essex County Hall of Records: Sheriff's Office A 44-year-old Orange man was arrested and charged after he attempted to enter the Essex County Hall of Records with a semi-automatic handgun in his backpack on Monday, Sept. 18, authorities said. Charles Pryor II's handgun was detected in the X-ray machine and was seized by an Essex County Sheriff's Officer manning the security screening post, the Essex County Sheriff's Office said. Pryor told police he forgot the handgun was in his backpack, police said. Pryor was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun without a permit in the second degree. Irvington Family Seeks Help After Losing Apartment In Fire Since Thursday, Sept. 7, an Irvington family has been left homeless after a fire that started at a gas station spread to their apartment. The fire has displaced the family of seven, including three children, who escaped the home with only the clothes on their back. A fundraiser has been set up to assist the family. Student Stabbed At Kean University: Police (Updated) A student was stabbed at Kean University on Tuesday, Sept. 19, university police said in a statement. At 8:15 p.m., university police responded to the basketball courts next to the Miron Student Center and transported the student to a nearby hospital, police said. Officers said they believe the incident is related to a group of people who were riding around the campus on bicycles. Prominent Attorney, Former Hudson County Prosecutor Harold Ruvoldt Dies, 81 Harold Ruvoldt, Jr. a prominent attorney in North Jersey, died on Sunday, Sept. 17 at the age of 81, according to his obituary. Ruvoldt, who lived in Haworth and Jersey City, was a graduate of St. Peter's College, Seton Hall Law School and Rutgers University Business School, according to his obituary. Community Supports Family After Child, 7, Dies In Fort Lee High-Rise Plunge The residents of the Fort Lee building where a 7-year-old boy died after falling out of a 21st window on Wednesday, Sept. 13 are coming together to support the grieving family. A fundraiser has been by Hampshire House tenants created to assist the Manzalaoui/Salazar family. As of Tuesday, Sept. 19, more than $35,000 has been raised. Help Find Missing Newark Boy (Look Inside) An 11-year-old Newark boy with a history of running away has been missing since Friday, Sept. 15, police said. Brayden Killings, who was diagnosed with ADHD and OCD was last seen on the 100 block of Badger Ave. at 4:45 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. Killings was wearing blue jeans, a red hooded sweatshirt featuring white logos and lettering, and gray and green 5.11 shoes, Fragé said.
