Stamford Art Festival Kicks Off At Harbor Point
STAMFORD, Conn. -- More than 100 artisans showing one-of-a-kind works of art in ceramics, jewelry, wearable art and other fine arts and fine crafts will be featured at the inaugural Stamford Art Festival on Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.
The Stamford Art Festival includes museum-quality art, fun educational activities for children and adults, international cuisine and live music performances. Admission is free.

Paul J. Gabriel Jr., 91, Of Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Paul J. Gabriel Jr., age 91, of Bridgeport,died Tuesday, July 21, at St. Joseph's Manor in Trumbull.
Gabriel, a retired produce manager for A&P Market, was born in Bridgeport on May 18, 1924, to Paul J. Gabriel Sr. and Rose DeRosa Gabriel. He was a lifelong area resident.
He served his country during World War II, earning five major battle stars and was involved in the Invasion of Normandy (Omaha Beach) on June 6, 1944. He also served in England, France, Germany and Belgium as a driver for press correspondent Ernie Pyle during the Battle of the Bulge.

Rudolfo Mangino, 86, Mamaroneck Resident
MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Rudolfo Mangino, of Mamaroneck, died Monday, July 20. He was 86.
Mangino was a veteran of the Korean War. He later became a business owner and engineer. He was a member of the Mamaroneck Knights of Columbus.
His wife, Maria, died in 2012.
He was the father of Rudolfo Jr., Maria Phillips (husband Jeff) and Michelle Mangino; brother of Margaret Spinelli and the late Vincent, Salvatore, John, Nicholas and Concetta Crezenzo; and grandfather of Maria Jean, Marisa, and Manda Phillips, and Madison Mangino and Rudolfo Mangino III (wife Lauren).

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Robert D. Palmieri, 58, a lifelong Bridgeport resident, died Tuesday, July 21.
Born Dec. 9, 1956, in Bridgeport, he was a son of Michael and Nancy Telesco Palmieri.
He is survived by his mother, his brother, Michael Palmieri and his wife, Theresa, of Stratford; sisters, Diane Martell, of New Milford, and Charlene Calandro and her husband, Dan, of Sandy Hook.
