Famed Composer Carmino Ravosa, 85, Longtime Briarcliff Resident
BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Longtime Briarcliff resident Carmino Ravosa, one of the most popular songwriters for children in the nation and its foremost musical composer on historical subjects the past five decades, died Sunday, July 19, in White Plains. He was 85.
Ravosa was a resident of Briarcliff Manor Village, where he served for many years on the board of trustees of the Briarcliff Manor-Scarborough Historical Society.

Ardsley Student Studies Alaska Wildlife With Canisius College
ARDSLEY, N.Y. – Jon-Ellyn Cullen, of Ardsley, was one of 11 Canisius College students who spent nearly two weeks in June studying and observing local wildlife in Alaska.
Sponsored by the Canisius Zoological Society, the group visited the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and Kenai Fjords National Park.
Cullen, a member of the Class of 2018, is an animal behavior, ecology and conservation major.

Norwalk's Human Services Council Seeks School Supply Donations
NORWALK, Conn. -- The Community Prevention Task Force of the Human Services Council is supporting the tenant associations in Norwalk in their efforts to provide school-age residents with backpacks and school supplies for the 2015-16 school year.
Community members can support this effort by donating the following: backpacks (priority need), pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, rulers, highlighters, notebooks, pocket folders, pencil cases and calculators.

'Two Views II' At Danbury Gallery Features New Fairfield Artists
DANBURY, Conn. -- "Two Views II," an exhibit highlighting the paintings, sculpture and works in mixed media by New Fairfield residents Mary Lou and Robert Alberetti, opens Friday with a reception from 5:30-7 p.m. at @287 Gallery & Meeting Place, 287 Main St., Danbury.
