'The Understudy' Continues At Lyndhurst In Tarrytown
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Performances of "The Understudy" continue at the Carriage House Theatre at Lyndhurst this weekend and run until Sunday, July 26. The M&M Performing Arts Company Inc. production of "The Understudy" by Theresa Rebeck is directed by Larry Schneider. The show runs Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays through July 26 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 for adults and $30 for seniors and children (16 and younger) and are available at Lyndhurst.org or by calling 888-71-TICKETS. Harrison Mayor Praises State Approval Of Park, Trails In Wetlands
HARRISON, N.Y. -- I’m happy to report that a freshwater wetland permit was issued June 26 by Daniel T. Whitehead, deputy regional permit administrator for the state Department of Environmental Conservation, in connection with Project Home Run at the Beaver Swamp Brook area. This follows the issuance of the decision of the commissioner of the DEC on June 16, which directed the issuance of this permit. The commissioner ruled that no hearing was necessary, as the proposed project was previously redesigned to eliminate all regulated activities in the wetland. This ruling puts an end to yea…

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Dana Gallagher, of Mamaroneck, a recent graduate of Rye Neck High School, and Jack Flannery, a 2015 graduate of Eastchester High School, served as student interns during their senior year for state Sen. BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Barn at Bedford Post Inn recently received a "good" rating from a New York Times reviewer. The restaurant and bar, partly owned by actor Richard Gere, earned praise for its fare being "hardly parochial" but was criticized for "being maddeningly up and down," according to The Times. PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Purchase College-SUNY has joined the U.S. Department of Energy’s Workplace Charging Challenge — a national partnership program that aims to increase the number of employers offering workplace charging for plug-in electric vehicles, or PEVs, to 500 by 2018.
