Yorktown Family Eagerly Awaits Fresh Air Fund Child's Return
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Growing up, Elaine Griffiths, of Yorktown Heights, would always see television commercials for The Fresh Air Fund’s Volunteer Host Family Program, and that program was always in the back of her mind.
In July 2014, Elaine, her husband John, and their children, Etta, Trevor, Kevin, Kelly and Owen, opened their hearts and their home to Laron, of the Bronx, for a week. This year, Laron will be rejoining the Griffithses family for two weeks of summertime fun, a new family tradition.

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Keith J. Donnelly, 53, of Bedford, died on Thursday, June 25, at his home.
Donnelly was born on Aug. 10, 1961, in Danbury, Conn., to Neil and Marian Donnelly.
He was a graduate of Fox Lane High School and Westchester Community College.
He is survived by his mother, Marian, of Bedford; his father, Neil, of Greenwich, Conn.; and brother, Paul, of Ossining.
Visitation is at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, on Wednesday, from 7-9 p.m.

Arduin J. Corvinelli, 88, Longtime Yonkers Resident
YONKERS, N.Y. -- Arduin J. Corvinelli, a longtime Yonkers resident, died Friday, June 26, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. He was 88.
An avid fan of jazz and golf, he was known as "Ed" to friends and family. Born May 22, 1927, in Waterbury, Conn., to Joseph and Sabina Corvinelli, he was raised in Brooklyn and was educated at St. Charles Borromeo School and Brooklyn Tech.
Following wartime service in the Signal Corps of the U.S. Army, he trained as a mechanical engineer and worked as a chief estimator for Raisler Corp. and later Tishman Construction in New York City.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Christina Ruth Buckley Silverman, 46, of White Plains, died Friday, June 26.
She was born in New York City on Dec. 9, 1968, to Madeline and Walter Buckley. She was raised and educated in Ardsley and graduated cum laude from New York University.
She enjoyed a very successful career in advertising before retiring from NBC Universal to raise her two sons.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Silverman, and sons, Jack and Ben; her mother, Madeline; and her sister, Jennifer (Carlos) O'Connell.
