Rye High School Sends Off Judd Rothstein To Pelham Post
RYE, N.Y. -- Judd Rothstein, history teacher at Rye High School, is leaving to take a job as assistant principal at Pelham Memorial High School. Rothstein also served as the adviser to Garnet Insider, a student video production club that produces videos highlighting students and teachers in the school community. During his 11 year career in Rye, Rothstein acted in numerous videos and produced the annual "lip dub" send-off videos for the graduating senior class. To watch this year's video, click here.

Mount Vernon Schools Use New Tool To Increase Literacy
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- Educators in Mount Vernon schools are using a tablet/Internet-based program to increase literacy levels and class participation. Five Mount Vernon teachers of the fourth, seventh and ninth grades are using the iLit (Inspire Literacy) program, which was developed by Pearson Education as a digital reading intervention solution for students who are at least two grades below their level. DANBURY, Conn. — Meteorology students from Western Connecticut State University provided mentoring and technical support for the STEM program at Westside Middle School Academy in Danbury to carry out the launch of two weather balloons on Saturday, June 6. BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- It’s that time again -- hydrant flushing program update. On Monday, Phase I of the village’s hydrant flushing program began. During the four-day villagewide flushing program, multiple crews will be mobilized to flush hydrants on water mains throughout the village. This will run from until Thursday.
