Mark Portanova, 62, Lifelong Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Mark Portanova, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Thursday, May 28. He was 62.
He was born to Sophie (Kossluk) and Michael A. Portanova in Stamford.
Portanova was an avid gardener, whose vegetables were coveted by his entire family. He was a doting grandfather and loved his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Lao) Portanova; his son, Mark; his stepchildren, Christine and Rommel; and his grandson, Jacob. He is also survived by his siblings, Michael, Jeffrey, Gina, Alan and Craig.

Joyce Eugenia Edwards, 75, Longtime Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Joyce Eugenia Edwards, 75, a longtime resident of Stamford, died Saturday, May 30, at Greenwich Hospital.
Edwards was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Sept. 11, 1939, to Conrad and Matilda Kydd. She worked at Stamford Hospital until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Vivian Edwards; four children, Irvin Kydd, Velma Edwards, Susan Edwards-Jacobs and Cloreth Edwards-McCalla; her sisters, Urcel Bernard, Angela Hull and Maureen Greenridge; seven grandchildren, Itibah Kydd, Steven Smith, Kaila Jacobs, Jordan Jacobs, Jada Jacobs, Serena McCalla and Dyl…
