William M. Magee, 92, Longtime Fairfield Resident
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- William M. Magee, 92, a longtime Fairfield resident and husband of Evelyn Wyrebek Magee, died Friday, June 5.

John Albert Morrell, 64, Lifelong Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. -- John Albert Morrell, 64, died at Stamford Hospital on Thursday, June 4, of cancer.
Morrell was born on Jan. 28, 1951, to Guilford and Elizabeth Morrell. He was a lifelong resident of Stamford, having moved here with his family at the age of 2.
He was co-owner of the former Duck Pin Lanes on Hope Street and worked as an automotive mechanic for over 30 years before retiring. He was an avid gun collector who loved repairing and fabricating machine parts. He also had a deep interest in history.

John Nikolas Bakes, 72, Longtime Stamford Resident
STAMFORD, Conn. -- John Nikolas Bakes, 72, died in his home in Stamford on Saturday, June 6.
Bakes was born in Pellana, Sparta, Greece, on Feb. 26, 1943, to Nikolas Bakes and Panagiota Triandafilou. He moved with his family in 1960 to Stamford, where he had lived ever since.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Vaso Drakopoulos Bakes; and their two daughters, Patty Bakes Servos of Athens, Greece, and Martha Bakes Mavridis , of Stamford. Melpomene Xega Kyriacou, 91, Longtime Bridgeport Resident
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Melpomene Xega Kyriacou, 91, of Bridgeport, died Friday, June 5.
Born in Fieri, Albania, she a daughter of Lici and Goro Poro Xega. A resident of Bridgeport for many years, she was a devout parishioner of St. George Albanian Orthodox Church.
Survivors include her sister, Vangjeli Soter of Bridgeport; and two brothers, Lizar and Spero Xega.
She was predeceased by her husband of more than 40 years, Nicolas Kyriacou,
The Rite of Burial took place Monday, June 8, at St. George Albanian Orthodox Church. The burial will take place in Palm Harbor, Fla.
