Martha Schiller, Longtime Port Chester Resident
PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- Martha Schiller died at her at home on Thursday, June 4, after a brief illness.
She was a mother who also worked outside the home in the 1950s and was active in her synagogue and her community in Port Chester for more than 60 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathi; her son, Robert; her daughter-in-law, Nilou; her grandchildren, Zak, Mina and Sahm; and a brother, Irv.

William J. Straub, 86, White Plains Resident
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- William J. Straub, of White Plains, died Saturday, June 6, at 86.
Straub was store manager at The Toy House in Hartsdale for more than 40 years.
Surviving are his children, Lori, William N., Dwight and Stacey; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Martin Edward Hopkins, 81, Bronxville Resident
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Martin Edward Hopkins, one of the original inventors of the first reduced instruction set computer, died of complications of Parkinson's disease on Wednesday, June 3, at his home in Bronxville. He was 81 years old.
Hopkins served as corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He graduated cum laude from Amherst College with a degree in philosophy. An IBM Fellow, Hopkins first learned about programming computers when they filled an entire room.

Philip P. Faiella, 92, World War II Veteran
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Philip P. Faiella, 92, husband of Jennie Parrella Faiella, died on Monday, June 1, at Bridgeport Healthcare Facility.
Faiella was born in Bridgeport on Nov. 20, 1922, to Salvatore and Anna Cardinale Faiella. He was a World War II veteran who served in 1945 in France, Belgium and Germany. He was the recipient of several medals, including the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Clusters and a Purple Heart. He earned the rank of technical sergeant.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Marcial Calo, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Saturday, June 6. He was 86.
Calo was born May 26, 1929, in Philadelphia to Marcial and Anna (Siclari) Calo.
He served in the U.S Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years at R. Parlatto Heating and Air Conditioning.

Robert J. Broderick, 83, Former Hartsdale Fire Commissioner
HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- Robert J. Broderick, a Hartsdale resident, died Saturday, June 6, at 83.
Broderick was born Sept. 28, 1931, in Yonkers to Matthew and Catherine Broderick. He was a graduate of White Plains High School and received a bachelor's degree in fire service and criminal justice from Mercy College.
He went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-53. After his service he became a New York state trooper at Troop K for 13 years. He then went on to be a firefighter in the Hartsdale Fire Department and worked his way up to the rank of captain, retiring in 1989. He then served a…
