Hershey Park Honors Port Chester Middle School Musicians, Singers PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- The Port Chester Middle School Show Choir, Select Band and Jazz Band recently participated in Music in the Parks at Hershey Park, Pa. Under the direction of Mark Zizolfo (Show Choir) and Ken Kraut (Select Band and Jazz Band), all three groups were awarded "superior" ratings and first place in the AA division. In addition, Lindsey Co was awarded the Middle School Overall Student Accompanist Award; and Isabella Rios was awarded the Middle School Overall Vocal Soloist Award.

Students for Senegal was founded in 2010 by students in Amary Seck’s chemistry class after listening to his stories of the challenges faced by schoolchildren in his home village of Lambaye. Book Focuses On Black Soldiers From North Castle In Civil War WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. — Edythe Ann Quinn, a Hartwick College history professor, has written "Freedom Journey: Black Civil War Soldiers and The Hills Community, Westchester County, New York." Quinn’s book is the story of 36 African-American men who drew upon their shared community of The Hills for support as they fought in the Civil War.
