Ballot Book Error Causes Delays In Poughkeepsie School Voting POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A mix-up with ballot books caused voting delays for numerous Poughkeepsie City School District voters at Krieger Elementary School early Tuesday after names were left out of poll books, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal. Workers realized they had an issue when they couldn't find the names of voter after voter on the books, the Journal said. An election inspector said the polling place was given the wrong books, the Journal reported. Once the error was discovered, the Board of Elections had to reprint the correct books and bring them to the school. The process delayed …

Poughkeepsie Man Facing Drug Charges After Traffic Stop On Route 9W POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie man is behind bars Tuesday without bail after he was busted for possession of marijuana, according to the Town of Lloyd Police. Shyron Williams, 28, was arrested on Friday following a traffic stop on Route 9W in Highland, said Lloyd Police Lt. James Janso.  Williams was charged after officers found marijuana and other drugs in his vehicle during the stop, police said. He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail where he is being held without bail.
