Watch Out For Mosquitoes, Putnam Health Department Warns
PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Following the weekend's heavy rains, on Tuesday Putnam County officials are warning residents to dump any standing water in order to prevent the hatching of mosquito larva.
That includes items as small as a bottle cap, that can contain enough water for the larva to breed and hatch.
Already this season, the Putnam County Department of Health (PCDOH) has found and identified Aedes Japonicus mosquitoes, the type that carries West Nile Virus, chikungunya, dengue, and other viruses.

80th Annual Strawberry Festival Coming To Chappaqua
CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Strawberry shortcake, strawberries dipped in chocolate, strawberry jam, are just a few things strawberry visitors to the Chuch of St. Mary the Virgin's 80th annual Strawberry Festival will find on Saturday, June 3.
They'll also find plenty of games and crafts for kids and teens, live music, bounce castles, a petting zoo, yummy barbecue and, of course, everything strawberry.
Plus, craft vendors and treasures from the attic.
The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church, 191 South Greeley Ave., next to the Bell School in Chappaqua.
