William Smith of Hopewell Junction was killed when he struck the center median with his 2003 Ford Taurus around 7:40 p.m., then veered across three lanes and hit the guardrail, said Trooper Melissa McMorris, New York State Police spokeswoman. Teen Driving Erratically On Route 52 Was Drunk, Kent Police Say A Carmel teen was charged with DWI after being stopped early Wednesday on Route 52, according to the Kent Police. Jonathan Maiolini, 19, was charged after he was stopped around 1:15 a.m. by Officer Darren Cea for driving erratically, said Chief Alexander DiVernieri.
