Man Killed After Striking Guardrail On Taconic State Parkway A 71-year-old man who may have suffered a medical emergency died Sunday when he lost control of his car near mile marker 18.4 northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in Yorktown, state police said. William Smith of Hopewell Junction was killed when he struck the center median with his 2003 Ford Taurus around 7:40 p.m., then veered across three lanes and hit the guardrail, said Trooper Melissa McMorris, New York State Police spokeswoman. Suffern Man Who Punches Girlfriend In Head Gets Arrested Again, Police Say ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Suffern man is behind bars after being charged twice on Sunday by Suffern police, first for punching his former girlfriend in the head and then for coming back to her home a second time, police said. Airmont Man, 29, Charged With DWI After Traffic Stop ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Airmont man was charged with DWI following a traffic stop Saturday in Nyack, according to the Orangetown Police. Richardo Belizaire, 29, was stopped around 4:18 a.m. for several traffic violations in Nyack, police said. Teen Driving Erratically On Route 52 Was Drunk, Kent Police Say A Carmel teen was charged with DWI after being stopped early Wednesday on Route 52, according to the Kent Police. Jonathan Maiolini, 19, was charged after he was stopped around 1:15 a.m. by Officer Darren Cea for driving erratically, said Chief Alexander DiVernieri. An investigation determined he was drunk, DiVernieri said. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on May 24.
