Longtime Dobbs Ferry Resident Ed Sherin, 'Law & Order' Director, 87
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Longtime Dobbs Ferry resident and "Law & Order" director Ed Sherin, died Thursday, May 4, in Nova Scotia. He was 87.Sherin, who received eight Emmy nominations and won one Emmy for directing “Law & Order,” was also known for his directing work on “Hill Street Blues,” “Moonlighting,” “L.A. Law,” and “Homicide: Life on the Street."
Law & Order" creator Dick Wolf, said in a statement, Sherin was "a vital contributor to the success of 'Law & Order'" and "a consummate professional."

Haverstraw Police Seek Public's Help In Search For Wanted Suspects
HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- The Haverstraw Police Department is seeking the community's help in locating 11 men wanted for crimes ranging from murder to assault.
Some have been missing for years, others for just a short time. One case involving Eugene Palmer, 78, of Stony Point, was the subject of a CNN John Walsh crime show. Palmer, who is believed to be in Mexico, is accused of killing Tammy Pannirell, the estranged wife of one of his sons.

Drunk, Texting Tow-Truck Driver Injures Two In Ramapo Crash, Police Say
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A drunk, texting tow truck driver injured two people on Route 17 early Monday in a head-on crash when he crossed the double yellow line, according to Ramapo Police.At about 3:55 a.m. Ramapo Police officers responded to the scene of the crash involving a Chevy Suburban limousine and a flatbed-style tow truck, said Det. Lt. Mark Emma.
Upon investigation by officers, it was determined that the Suburban was traveling northbound on Route 17 when the tow truck, owned by “Big-Tows” of Spring Valley, crossed the center line and struck the Suburban head-on, Emma said.
