Have A Bat In The House? Clarkstown Police Offer Some Pointers
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Now that spring has arrived and the bats, yes, bats, are in the air, the Clarkstown Police Department says if you find one in your home, don't touch it or try to capture it.
You can scream, but then residents should know the proper steps to take to avoid being bitten or infected with rabies.
According to the New York State Department of Conservation, if provoked or threatened, bats will defend themselves by biting.

West Haverstraw Man, 25, Faces Drug, Weapons Charges After Traffic Stop
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A West Haverstraw man was busted on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop Tuesday by Stony Point police.
Tyler Schaub, 25, was stopped around 10:45 p.m. for several traffic violations, said Lt. Daniel Hylas.
During the stop, officers found Schaub was in possession of a gravity knife, 22 baggies of cocaine and one baggie of suboxone, Hylas said.
During his arrest, officers also found a hypodermic needle hidden in his waistband, he added.
