Woman, 45, Driving Drunk In Patterson Had Children In Car, Sheriff Says
A Connecticut woman was charged with DWI under Leandra's Law for driving drunk with three teens under 16 in the car, according to Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.
Sandra L. Diehl, 45, of New Fairfield, Conn., was stopped around 1:20 p.m. Friday, April 21, after the department received a call about a suspicious vehicle stopped along Old Route 22 in Patterson, said Capt. William McNamara.
Deputy Sheriff Christopher Irwin investigated and located the car on the roadside with Diehl at the wheel and three teenaged passengers with her, McNamara said.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Wappingers Falls building contractor who admitted he was guilty of defrauding homeowners and businesses received a combined sentence of two and two-thirds to seven years in prison on Tuesday.Fortunato “Ken” Febus, 51, of Wappingers Falls, was sentenced by Orange County Court Judge Craig Stephen Brown, for defrauding his victims, which included a church, and the New York State Tax Department of more than $195,479, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Man Caught With Heroin, Oxycodone After Stony Point Traffic Violation
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Washingtonville man was nabbed with heroin and oxycodone following a traffic stop in Stony Point earlier this month.
Michael Schultz, 36, was arrested on Monday, April 3, after being stopped on Beach Road for several traffic violations, said Lt. Daniel Hylas.
During the stop, officers discovered that Schultz was driving on a suspended license and was in possession of nine hypodermic needles, oxycodone pills and 1.8 grams of heroin, Hylas said.
