Kent Man, 71, Caught With Crack Cocaine After Traffic Stop KENT, N.Y. -- A Kent man was busted for crack cocaine following a traffic stop on Sunday by Kent Police. Robert Geddes, 71, was arrested after he was stopped for having a suspended license tag. When the officer had Geddes step our of his vehicle, the officer saw him reach for the passenger seat, said Chief Alexander DiVernieri. A check of the vehicle led to the discovery of a quantity of crack cocaine, a crack pipe, and an unidentified white pill, police said. According to  Rockland officials, residents will receive a call sometime between 5:30  to 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 26. No action is required by residents. Croton Middle School 'Lockdown' Just A Drill CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A swarm of police cars on Tuesday at the Pierre Van Cortlandt School was just a drill. There was not a real emergency.Officials with the school said the mock lockdown was part of a required series of drills that have to be held throughout the year. During the drill, an alarm from a classroom was pressed, putting the school on automatic lockdown and triggering a response from the police department. Teen Critically Injured In Milan Taconic Parkway Crash A 19-year-old man is in critical condition with serious internal injuries following a one-car crash on the Taconic State Parkway early Monday morning in Dutchess County, according to the New York State Police. Saveon Green of Albany was injured when his car struck a tree around 5 a.m. just south of Jackson Corners Road in Milan, becoming entrapped, said state police. Search Intensifies For Haverstraw Man Missing More Than A Week ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Haverstraw police are seeking the public's help as they continue their search for a missing 61-year-old man who hasn't been seen in more than a week, according to Lt. Martin Lund. Juan Figueroa was last seen on Friday, April 14, at the Green Hills Home for Adults. Since that time, he has not been seen and efforts to find him have turned up empty, Lund said. Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Home In Ossining OSSINING, N.Y. -- An Ossining family lost their home to a two-alarm fire that leveled their Gordon Avenue home early Tuesday. Briarcliff Manor firefighters were called to what they thought was a laundry room fire around 1:48 a.m., but when they arrived on scene at 48 Gordon Ave., they found the home, and a vehicle, fully engulfed in flames, according to the Briarcliff Fire Company. The fire ripped through the two-story wood structure, causing the home to collapse before firefighters could bring it under control within an hour.
