New York State police continue to search for a man who impersonated a police officer and robbed a driver at gunpoint early Wednesday on the Taconic Parkway. The incident occurred around 6:20 a.m. when the victim was stopped on the shoulder of the parkway just south of Pudding Street in the town of Putnam Valley when a white, older model Ford Crown Victoria pulled up behind the driver with flashing red dash lights, but no flashers, state police said. In an effort to keep contraband from entering New York correctional facilities, state Assemblyman Tom Abinanti (D-Greenburgh/Mt. Motorist In Nyack Suspicious Vehicle Stop Had Heroin, Police Say
NYACK, N.Y. -- A Mahwah, N.J. woman was busted for possession of heroin following a police stop on Thursday in Nyack, according to the Orangetown Police. Orangetown officers charged Jessica Tubito, 21, after finding one envelope of heroin and one hypodermic needle during a traffic stop around 10:30 p.m., for a suspicious vehicle, police said. Tubito was released and is scheduled to appear in court on April 11.

Ramapo Police Save Life Of Woman Who Overdosed
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Ramapo police saved an Airmont woman's life on Thursday who had overdosed on drugs, said the Ramapo Police Department.According to police, officers responded to a home in Airmont where they found the woman who was showing signs of an Oxycodone overdose. Officers quickly administered Narcan to the woman who became more responsive after receiving a single dose, police added. The woman was provided additional medical care by the Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp and Rockland paramedics before being transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.
