'Signs Of Spring' Hike Offered At Pound Ridge's Halle Revine. POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- It's almost spring and nature lovers will want to mark their calendars for an upcoming "Signs of Spring," hike on Sunday, April 9 at Halle Ravine in Pound Ridge. The hike, which runs from 2 to 4 p.m., is perfect for all hikers, tree lovers, frog, and flower lovers. During the hike, preserve officials will discuss the recent clearing of invasive species in the north end of the preserve and planting plans for volunteers on Arbor Day. Tractor-Trailer Slams Into Car In Wappingers Falls DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A tractor-trailer slammed into a car in Wappingers Falls on Monday morning, said New York State Police.The accident occurred at 9:50 a.m. at 1491 Route 9 near the Hannaford Supermarket Plaza when the tractor-trailer driver hit the car, state police said. There were no injuries reported.

Two Injured In Ramapo Crash ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two people were injured in a traffic crash around 8 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of New Hempstead Road and Summit Park Road, according to the Ramapo Police.One of the victims was suffering from chest pains and the other received minor facial lacerations, both were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance, police said. The power box to the traffic light was also damaged during the crash, causing it to quit working. The light was repaired by Verdi Electric.

Spring Valley Man, 26, Driving Erratically Was Drunk, Police Say SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- A Spring Valley man was busted for DWI after being stopped on Saturday for driving erratically on Route 45, according to Sheriff Louis Falco. Alexander Godoy, 26, was arrested after a sheriff's deputy observed him driving in an erratic manner round 4:47 a.m., said Chief William Barbera. During the stop, Godoy was found to be intoxicated and refused to comply with required procedures. He was charged with DWI and obstructing governmental administration, Barbera said. He is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $2,500 bail.

Car Crashes, Domestic Disputes Among Bedford Police Reports BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Bedford police were kept busy during the week of March 13-19 with calls ranging from car crashes to domestic disputes, according to the Bedford Police. On Monday, March 13, officers responded to a two-car crash on Cherry Street in Bedford Hills in which one vehicle had run into the back of another vehicle. No injuries were reported. One-Car Crash Leads To Route 6N Closure In Mahopac MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- A one-car crash on West Lake Boulevard early Monday led to the closure of Route 6N in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. The department received a call around 6 a.m. that a driver had lost control of his car and landed on top of a wall at the entrance to Vista Terrace, said Jack Casey, public information officer for the department. Construction Worker Seriously Injured After Fall In New Square RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A construction worker, unloading building supplies, was seriously injured Friday during a fall in the Village of New Square, according to the Ramapo Police Department.Officers responded to the construction site after receiving a call that the worker had fallen from a second-floor. $17M Saw Mill Parkway Bridge Projects In Westchester To Start A $17.1 million project to build two new bridges that will carry the Saw Mill River Parkway over Kisco River and Branch Brook into the towns of Mount Kisco and New Castle is slated to begin in April. Ramapo Police Save Life Of Woman Who Overdosed ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Ramapo police saved an Airmont woman's life on Thursday who had overdosed on drugs, said the Ramapo Police Department.According to police, officers responded to a home in Airmont where they found the woman who was showing signs of an Oxycodone overdose. Officers quickly administered Narcan to the woman who became more responsive after receiving a single dose, police added. The woman was provided additional medical care by the Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp and Rockland paramedics before being transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.
