IBM Engineer Richard Davison, 72, Of Poughkeepsie POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Richard W. Davison, 72, of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday, March 7, at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Davison was born Dec. 8, 1944, in Beatrice, Neb. He is the son of the late James and the late Melba Davison. He married Leonora Jane " Lee " Melhado on Sept. 25, 1971, at St. Stanislaus Church in Pleasant Valley, she predeceased him on Aug. 2, 2014. A programming engineer at IBM, Davison was also a member of the Town of Poughkeepsie Republican Party and served as their treasurer. Red Hook Police Officers Get Naloxone Certifications RED HOOK, N.Y. -- All Red Police officers received recertifications on the use of Naloxone from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services on Monday.The recertification included training on how to administer the drug which is used to treat victims of opioid and heroin overdoses, police said. Naloxone (Narcan) is an opioid antagonist used for the complete or partial reversal of opioid overdose, including respiratory depression.  Police have used the drug to bring overdose victims back to life.

Man, 32, Strikes Victim In Head With Beer Bottle, Ramapo PD Says RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A 32-year-old New Hempstead man was charged with assault after hitting another man in the head with a beer bottle on Sunday, Ramapo Police said.The incident occurred in the Hillcrest area of the town during an argument. The victim was treated and released from the hospital, police said.  The unidentified man is currently being held in the Ramapo Police lock-up awaiting arraignment.

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- As whiteout conditions cover the area, the Town of Clarkstown has canceled some services ranging from garbage pickup to Justice Court sessions. Although the town officially remains open, residents should not expect garbage and recycling to be picked up on Tuesday. Bulk pickup scheduled for Wednesday will be picked up on March 22.
