Snow Emergency Declared In Mount Kisco MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- As the blizzard pounds northern Westchester County, Mount Kisco Village Manager Edward W. Brancati declared a snow emergency for the village until 8 a.m. Wednesday. During the emergency, parking on any street or roadway is prohibited until the emergency ends at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Violators will be ticketed or towed, said Brancati. In addition, residents should not throw snow onto plowed portions of any street or roadways. Snow Emergency Declared In New Castle NEW CASTLE, N.Y. --  As a major Nor'easter has brought Westchester County to a standstill, New Castle officials are declaring a snow emergency that includes keeping vehicles off roadways. During the emergency, which is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, town officials are asking residents to stay home and to not leave any unattended vehicles on highways. On street parking is suspended as well.

Fire Breaks Out At Two-Family Poughkeepsie Residence POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- No one was injured in a City of Poughkeepsie fire Sunday on Smith Street fire that broke out on the second floor, according to Deputy Fire Chief Ed Decker. The blaze at 122 Smith St., began around 3:40 p.m. on the second floor that was packed full of belongings, Decker said. The nine residents of the two-family home were able to escape without injury and are being offered help by the Red Cross, he added. Vladimir Vera, 45, of Rivervale, N.J., was charged after officers spotted him driving erratically around 1:34 a.m., police said.
