CIty Of Poughkeepsie Declares Snow Emergency POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- As the expected major Nor’easter shifts paths and puts its sights on Dutchess County, the City of Poughkeepsie has declared a snow emergency beginning at 12 a.m. Tuesday. Mayor Rob Rolison said the snow emergency will remain in effect until further notice.  During the emergency, residents are advised to only call 911 in the case of an emergency, and to call 845-451-4000 for all non-emergency phone calls. POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A fire at a six-apartment home in the City of Poughkeepsie that was being used mostly for storage, started as a result of the owner using a kerosene space heater at 330 Mansion St, fire officials said. Unfortunately, that surge spells a higher risk for Lyme disease cases this summer, reports NPR.
