Latimer Introduces State Bill To Consider JCC Threats A Hate Crime
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- With the sudden rise of bomb threats against Jewish Community Centers across the nation, including several targeting centers in Westchester, State Sen. George Latimer (D-Westchester) is introducing legislation to make those phone calls a hate crime.
"Targeting something simply because it has a religion in its name and mission is really the definition of hate," Latimer said.

RHINEBECK, N.Y. --Dr. William Halsted Jameison, 87, and Jessica Jameison, 47, both of Rhinebeck, died Feb. 28.
Bill Jameison died at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck just hours after his daughter Jessica, who was born with Down's Syndrome and suffered from Alzheimer's Disease.
Born in Manhattan on June 16, 1929, to Dr. Frances and Dr. Gerald R. Jameison, Bill was raised in White Plains, where he enjoyed fly fishing, skiing, shooting, and horseback riding. He was a pilot later in life and enjoyed flying his Piper Cherokee, "2-9-Whiskey".
