Vehicle Break-Ins In Yorktown Under Investigation: Here's Where Authorities are asking for help from the public as they investigate a spate of vehicle break-ins in Northern Westchester. The incidents happened overnight on Sunday, Oct. 8 in the Fox Meadow area of Yorktown, Yorktown Police announced. 2 Injured, Utility Pole Snapped In Head-On Crash In Croton Falls A head-on collision in Northern Westchester caused two people to be hospitalized and left smoking live wires and a snapped pole in its wake. The incident happened on Sunday, Oct. 8 around 5 p.m., when first responders received a report of a collision in Croton Falls at the intersection of June Road and Grant Road. According to the Croton Falls Fire Department, arriving crews found a head-on crash in addition to a snapped utility pole and smoking live wires. First responders then shut down traffic and assessed those involved for injuries before taking two patients to nearby hospitals. …

Bald Eagle Comes Back To Life After Being Found In Newtown Road In the midst of spooky season, a bald eagle seemingly came back from the dead after it was found lifeless on a Fairfield County road. The incident happened on Monday, Oct. 9, when Newtown Police and Animal Control responded to Mount Pleasant Road, where a possibly dead bald eagle was found in the street. According to the department though, after a short amount of time, the bald eagle roused, walked away from the road, and flew into a nearby tree, turning the day from tragic to joyous. Former Fire Chief Of Hudson Valley Department Dies: Had 'Legacy Of Service' A Hudson Valley community is mourning the loss of a former fire chief who spent nearly his entire life serving the public. The Mahopac Fire Department in Putnam County announced the death of its former chief, Edward J. Scott, on Sunday, Oct. 8. In addition to serving as the former chief, Scott had also served as the past President and Chairman of the Mahopac Board of Fire Commissioners. He also worked as a 911 dispatcher for Putnam County. Blaze Breaks Out At Burger King On Route 119 In Elmsford Crews had to race to save a Home of the Whopper in Westchester after a fire broke out inside the fast food restaurant.
