Mom of 2, Girlfriend Of Suspect ID'd As Victim In Salem Murder Case: DA A 33-year-old Pablo Vicente man is charged with killing the mother of his two children and dumping her body, authorities announced Tuesday, Aug. 8.  Nayeli Nieves, 20, of Salem, was reported missing on Monday from the home where she lived with Vicente and their 3-year-old and 18-month-old children, investigators said. They are being cared for by the Department of Children and Families. Her body is still missing. Pablo Vicente is accused of killing the woman, the Essex County District Attorney said.  Salem police received a tip that Vicente had harmed her and opened an investigation. Kayaker Finds Body On Riverbank Near Western Mass Bridge: Firefighters Holyoke firefighters and police were called to Muller Bridge Sunday morning after a kayaker body on the bank of a river.  Crews responded just before noon to Long Pond Road after receiving reports of the corpse washed up on the bank, the Holyoke Fire Department said. Police closed a section of the road for several hours as they investigated and cleared the scene.  Police are investigating the cause of death. Detectives have not released the identification of the body or any information on how they could have ended up in the water.

Man Stabbed At Chicopee Gas Station Dies At Hospital: Police A man stabbed at a Chicopee gas station Sunday afternoon, Aug. 6, has died, Chicopee police said.  The attack happened at the Shell station at 95 West St. around 3 p.m., police said. Paramedics rushed the man to a nearby hospital, where he died of his wounds.
