She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Fight Breaks Out, Leading To Lockdown At School In Stamford A fight between several students caused a school to go into a temporary lockdown in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Stamford on Tuesday, April 26 at Cloonan Middle School. In a letter to parents, Principal David Tate wrote that as a result of the fight, police were notified and responded to the campus. "During this time, we followed our standard protocols, and the school was placed on lockdown while we resolved this isolated incident," Tate said. Quick-Thinking Officers Save Western Mass Man From Hanging Himself, Police Say A Western Mass man who was attempting to hang himself from a tree was saved by quick-thinking police officers. The incident took place in Hampden County in Springfield around 11:!5 a.m., Monday, April 25. Truck Driver Killed By Forklift At Hudson Valley Business, Police Say A truck driver was killed after being hit by a forklift while making a delivery to a Hudson Valley business. The incident took place in Orange County in the town of Montgomery around 9:15 a.m., Monday, April 25 at L&W Supply located at 155 Bracken Road. CT Woman Found Dead After Assault Complaint, Police Say A Connecticut woman was found dead after police responded to an assault complaint. The incident took place in New Haven County around 10:20 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, in Waterbury in the area of Willow Street at Roseland Avenue. Search For NY Teacher Who Went Missing In Berkshires Nears One Month Police and family members are still searching for an upstate New York woman who has been missing for almost a month. Albany County resident Meghan A. Marohn, age 42, of Delmar, hasn't been seen since Sunday, March 27 when she was on a trip in Western Massachusetts. Bridgeport Child Seriously Injured While Playing With Gas, Police Said A child was seriously burned while playing with gasoline along with a group of other kids in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 3:50 p.m., Sunday, April 24, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management for Bridgeport. MS-13 Gang Leader Sentenced To Life In Prison For At Least Three Murders, Racketeering An MS-13 gang leader from the region has been sentenced to life in prison for taking part in at least three murders, racketeering, and possession of drugs. Junior Noe Alvarado-Requeno, aka “Insolente” and “Trankilo,” age 24, of Landover, Maryland was sentenced on Monday, April 25, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly. Two Injured In Shooting Outside Best Western In Hudson Valley A man and a woman were injured following a shooting outside of a Hudson Valley hotel. Long Island Resident Accused Of Assaulting Man With Skateboard A Long Island man was arrested for allegedly assaulting another man with a skateboard during an altercation. The incident took place in South Jamesport, a hamlet in Riverhead, around 4:45 p.m., Sunday, April 24.
