23-Year-Old From Hudson Valley Dies After Being Struck By Passing Train A Hudson Valley woman who was hit in the head by a passing train while standing on a platform has died from her injuries. Putnam County resident, Hope Mantovi, age 23, of Mahopac was struck around 8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19, in Woodlawn in the Bronx, said Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials. Mantovi died on Friday, April 8, at St. Barnabas Hospital from injuries incurred during the accident, her family announced. Long Island Man Nabbed For Breaking Into Two Churches, Police Say A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into two churches, and stealing two cash boxes from one. Suffolk County resident Luke Wigutow, age 27, of Patchogue was arrested on Monday, April 11, for the burglary which took place in Hicksville. According to detectives, Wigutow was seen getting out of a BMW X5 in the parking lot of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church located at 129 Broadway, said the Nassau County police. Man Found Hiding In Woods After Crash In Western Mass, Police Say The Massachusetts State Police air wing helped locate a man who ran from a motor vehicle crash into a heavily wooded area. The incident took place in Berkshire County shortly after 5 p.m., Friday, April 8 in Clarksburg. Following the crash of a pickup truck, troopers responded to East Road to search for the driver who fled into the woods after being involved in a crash with another vehicle, said the Massachusetts State Police. Duo Nabbed For Attempted Armed Robbery At TD Bank In Western Mass Two Western Mass men have been arrested for allegedly robbing a TD bank in the region. The robbery took place in Springfield around 9:15 a.m., Saturday, April 9 at the bank located on the 500 block of Sumner Avenue.
