Suspect Nabbed For Alleged Arson Of Apartment Building In Area A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for the alleged arson of an apartment building. Dutchess County resident Charles A. Keenan, age 48 of Dover Plains, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 1 in connection with the fire in January in the town of Dover, said Lieutenant Shawn Castano, of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Chicopee Man Purchases Winning $1M Mass Lottery Ticket At Local Convenience Store A lucky Western Massachusetts man has a pocket full of cash after recently winning $1 million on an instant ticket in the state lottery. Hampden County resident Thomas Boileau, of Chicopee, hit the big time on Thursday, Jan. 20, playing the “$4,000,000 Brilliant Titanium” instant ticket game. Man Accused Of Firing Gun At CT Gas Station A Connecticut man was arrested after allegedly getting into a fight at an area gas station and then firing a gun at another person. New Haven County resident Derrick Colson, age 26, of Naugatuck, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 1, by Naugatuck Police for the incident which took place on Monday, Jan. 1. Three-Alarm Blaze Breaks Out At CT Shopping Plaza Four families were left homeless and eight businesses were damaged during a three-alarm fire in Connecticut. The blaze broke out in New London County a little before 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 31 at the Midway Plaza on Flanders Road in the Niantic section of East Lyme, said Flanders Fire Chief Chris Taylor. Blaze Breaks Out At Home In Area A fire destroyed the first floor of a home in the Hudson Valley overnight. The blaze broke out in Orange County around 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 31 at the home located on Orchard Street in Port Jervis, said the Port Jervis Fire Department. 19-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Lirr Train In Nassau County A 19-year-old Long Island resident was struck and killed by an LIRR train. Nicolai Farguharson, of Baldwin, was killed around 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 30 after being struck by an MTA train in Baldwin near Grand Avenue and Sunrise Highway, the MTA said. Following the incident, the LIRR Babylon Branch was suspended as a result for a period of time. An investigation is underway by the MTA police.

Imposter Gains Access To Law Enforcement Center In Hudson Valley, Police Say A man from the region has been arrested for allegedly attempting to gain access to an area law enforcement center. Detectives and deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office arrested Josue Gonzalez, age 35, of Kingston on Friday, Jan. 28, after he attempted to enter the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center and attempted to access a secure area. Person Struck, Killed By Train In Fairfield County A person was struck and killed after jumping in front of a train in Fairfield County, authorities said. The unidentified person was hit around 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1 at the Stamford Train Station, said the MTA. The person was pronounced dead on the scene, they added. As a result, the 5:40 a.m. train from Waterbury to Stamford was canceled at South Norwalk, however, customers were accommodated by the 6:11 a.m. train from Danbury to Grand Central Terminal and the 6:16 a.m. train from New Haven to Grand Central Terminal, MTA officials said. Relocated Hudson Valley Resident Goes Missing After Leaving For Walk A former Hudson Valley man is missing and may be trying to make it back to his longtime home. Ex-Dutchess County resident Ralph Whitehead, who lived in Fishkill, just recently moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and has been missing since Friday, Jan. 28. CT Police Officer Arrested For Domestic Violence, Police Say A Connecticut cop has been arrested for family domestic violence including strangulation and placed on leave from his job.
