Long Island Man Charged With Robbery Of Supermarket With Knife, Police Say A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to steal items from a supermarket and then confronting an employee with a knife. Nicholas Berg, age 36, undomiciled, was arrested around noon on Wednesday, Feb. 2, by Riverhead Police after the incident at the Gala Fresh Supermarket, located at 795 Old Country Road. According to police, Berg was seen inside the store removing items from the market without paying for them.  When confronted in front of the store, Berg displayed a knife, police said. CT Teacher Arrested After Pulling Student's Hair, Police Say A Connecticut teacher has been arrested for allegedly pulling a student by the hair. Hit-Run Crash Under Investigation In Chicopee One person was injured during a hit-and-run crash in Western Massachusetts. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m., Tuesday,  Feb. 1, on Exchange Street in Chicopee, according to 22 News. The news channel reported a vehicle hit a parked car and then left the area. Police told the news channel the vehicle, with the driver and passenger inside, were caught a short distance away. One of the suspects was taken to the hospital with injuries but the injuries are said to be minor. The crash is under investigation. Area Resident Sentenced For Stabbing Another Woman On Roadway A Hudson Valley resident was sentenced to 10 years in state prison for stabbing another woman on a city street. Orange County resident Ariana Sanchez, age 23, of Newburgh, was sentenced on Tuesday, Feb. 1 to prison time as well as five years post-release supervision, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler. The stabbing took place in June 2021 on Dubois Street in the City of Newburgh, the DA's Office said. Sanchez had pleaded guilty to assault in December.
