Popular Long Island Restaurant Closes Following Death Of Owner A popular Long Island restaurant has closed following the death of its owner last year. Zim Zari California Coastal in Massapequa Park announced on Facebook they had closed the restaurant after selling to another owner. The restaurant, located in the Southgate Shopping Center on Merrick Road, was a favorite spot for more than 12 years under the ownership of Keith Giannadeo, who died suddenly last year. Police Officer Injured In Three-Vehicle Westchester Crash, Police Say Two people were injured including a police officer during a three-vehicle crash in Westchester. The crash -- which involved a Greenburgh Police car -- took place around 1:50 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3 in the Four Corners area of East Hartsdale and Central Park avenues in Greenburgh. According to Greenburgh Police, details were still coming in, but two people were transported to the hospital including a Greenburgh police officer. Their conditions were not known, said Lt. Crash Involving Two Planes Reported At Long Island MacArthur Airport A single-engine plane with two people aboard struck a parked jet while taxiing at Long Island MacArthur Airport. The incident took place early Wednesday, Feb. 2 when a single-engine Pilatus PC-12 aircraft struck a Hawker jet at the Ronkonkoma airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said. Covid-19: Hospitalized Springfield Police Officer Battling For His Life After Contracting Virus A longtime Western Massachusetts police officer is fighting for his life in a hospital after contracting COVID-19. Duo Nabbed For Scam Involving Fake Hudson Valley Fatal DWI Crash, Police Say Two women have been arrested in an alleged scam attempt in which they alleged that the victim's relative had been arrested for a fatal DWI crash and needed bail money. Long Island Fire Departments Issue Alert On Donation Scams Long Island fire departments are warning the public about a scam from a donation mailer they have no affiliation with. The South Farmingdale Fire Department said on Facebook the letter from the Volunteer Firefighter Alliance Charity recently went out to residents in Nassau County. Police Search For I-84 Hit-Run Driver Connecticut State police are asking the public for help locating the driver of a light-colored SUV involved in a hit-and-run crash on I-84 in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 1:40 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 30, near Exit 5 in Danbury when the SUV merged into the right lane and hit the front driver’s side of a 2010 Honda Civic, state police said. Man Admits To Random Supermarket Stabbing Murder In Area A Hudson Valley man who walked up to a stranger at a grocery store and fatally stabbed him in the neck has pleaded guilty to murder. Orange County resident, Andrew Goodenough, age 41, of New Windsor, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 2, to the murder of Michael Kohus, age 35, of Highland Falls in June 2016, according to Orange County District Attorney David M.
