The mild, shaking jolt in Connecticut that startled some in Fairfield County, was in fact a mild earthquake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The USGS, the organization responsible for earthquake tracking around the country, said the 1.4-magnitude quake took place at 12:38 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27 in Greenwich, two kilometers north-northwest of the neighborhood of Cos Cob. Police Searching For Suspect Who Broke Into Riverhead IHOP, Stole Cash Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly broke into a Long Island IHOP restaurant and made off with cash. The burglary took place around 11 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27 at the IHOP located at 1490 Old Country  Road in Riverhead. According to Riverhead Police, an employee at IHOP reported while the business was closed a person broke a side window and entered the business. Man Wanted In Connection With Shooting In Hudson Valley, Police Say Police are asking the public for help identifying a man wanted for attempted murder during a shooting incident in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County around 6:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 26, when members of the Clarkstown Police responded to a report of shots fired in Central Nyack, said Detective Norman Peters of the Clarkstown Police. Man Pleads Guilty To Two Residential Burglaries In Area A Hudson Valley man will spend 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree burglary. Jesus Vazquez, age 41, pleaded guilty in Orange County Court on Tuesday, Jan. 25 in connection with committing two residential burglaries in the City of Newburgh, said the Orange County District Attorney's Office.  The guilty pleas were entered immediately before a jury trial was ready to begin.
